The Festival features 19 films from 7 countries
The 2023 ARCTIC OPEN – CHILDREN is a special selection of the 7th Arctic Open International Film Festival, which will take place in the Arkhangelsk Region, Russia from 7-10 December 2023.
La Stanza del mare (The Sea Room), a short film, opened the ARCTIC OPEN – CHILDREN Festival in Arkhangelsk, Russia on 2 November. It was written and directed by Carlo Prozzo, Italian director. Carlo Prozzo welcomed the Festival participants online. Prozzo said he believes films can bring people together.
On 2 November, the Festival’s visitors were able to see a Chinese short film called Serious and Lively directed by Song Tse Ying. The film shows two different childhoods.
Besides, participants from Iran also joined the Festival. Director Ali Tehranipour presented the film "Fish". The Fish is a symbolic look at the hope for solving social, immigration and environmental challenges of human life.
The Festival features 19 films from 7 countries: China, Denmark, Iran, Italy, Peru, Russia, and Turkey. Moreover, the ARCTIC OPEN – CHILDREN non-competition programme features Cartoon Retrospective and ECO-Cinema VR sessions. The VR sessions will take viewers to the bottom of the White Sea and back to a new film.
The films selected for the 2023 ARCTIC OPEN – CHILDREN will compete in 3 categories – Best Children’s Feature Film, Best Children’s Short Film, and Best Child Actor.
The ARCTIC OPEN – CHILDREN Festival will last until 5 November.
