A scientific-practical conference with international participation titled "Cultural-Historical Heritage of the Arctic: Russian Settlements in the Focus of Scientific Attention" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Barentsburg will be held on March 15th, 16th, and 19th, reports Trust "Arktikugol".
The conference will bring together Arctic researchers, scientists from institutes and centers whose research areas involve the exploration and study of the Arctic during the Soviet and Russian periods, particularly focusing on the archipelago of Svalbard and Russian settlements.
Topics at the conference will include polar expeditions, the history of the Arctic archipelago, and Russian presence in the settlements, as stated in the announcement.
The event will take place across multiple venues in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, and the Murmansk region.
