Moscow and Beijing cooperate in such areas as oceanography and marine research, Nikolay Korchunov, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and Senior Arctic Official of Russia to the Arctic Council, said.

Russia and China are working on joint projects important for the countries’ economy and science. These projects aim to promote sustainable development in the Arctic region.

The projects being worked on are primarily aimed at sustainable development in the Arctic and are important for the economy and science of both countries, the ambassador said in response to a related question.

Previously, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said during a regular press conference that Beijing was ready to cooperate with Russia in various areas, including the Arctic.
