Trump's victory is indisputable, as he received the most votes nationally, appeared to win all seven crucial swing states, and once again outperformed opinion polls.

For Trump, the victory means a return to the pinnacle of power, crowning his political career. In addition, Trump, who has been convicted of crimes, survives unfinished legal processes with minimal consequences due to his position as president.

Trump's rival candidate, Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris, had a fast start to the elections in the summer, when the incumbent President Joe Biden withdrew from the race. However, Harris was not able to make a positive campaign.

Dissatisfaction with the political system of the United States is probably behind Trump's victory. Power is changing in the White House now for the third consecutive election, while in the 20th century and the beginning of the 2000s, the administration has almost always remained with the same party for at least two terms.

Trump's victory raises a lot of questions in the Western partners of the United States. Trump has promised to return industrial production to the United States and hinted at, among other things, a drastic increase in import duties. This would cut economic growth in Europe.

The measure is questionable, as it would raise the prices of imported goods in the United States and hit the wallets of Americans.

Trump is considered much more unpredictable in foreign policy than the current president. He does not value multilateral cooperation or international agreements and has expressed his admiration for autocrats several times. His attention is focused on China instead of Europe.

The world's security situation is more tense than in 2016, so Trump's actions are expected to be tense, especially in Ukraine, which is completely dependent on the support of the West. Ukraine now needs all available support so that its position in possible peace negotiations with Russia would be strong enough. European countries must also invest much more in their own security than at present.

Although many in Europe hoped for Harris' victory, the 47th president of the United States is Donald Trump, who won the democratic election undisputedly. Trump's victory is a real political fact, on the basis of which relations with the United States must be managed.
