Donald Trump is set to reclaim the US presidency, four years after his refusal to accept his 2020 election loss to President Joe Biden. At 78, Trump will become the second former president in history, after Grover Cleveland, to regain the White House after losing a reelection bid while in office.
Prime Minister of Iceland Bjarni Benediktsson congratulated Donald Trump on his re-election this morning. In a post on X, Bjarni referred to the US as Iceland’s strongest ally and largest single trading partner.
Congratulations to @realDonaldTrump on your victory in the US presidential election. The US is Iceland’s strongest ally and largest single trading partner. I look forward to working with the Trump administration on furthering our long-standing relationship as friends and allies.
