On September 24 and 25, the II All-Russian Maritime Congress was held in Moscow. During the plenary session, industry leaders discussed the challenges and strategies of the maritime industry.
The All-Russian Maritime Congress is the largest international event in the maritime sector, held every two years. This year, the Congress is organized with the support of the Government of Russia, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Transport, and several key partners, including Rosatom and the United Shipbuilding Corporation.
The II All-Russian Maritime Congress serves as a unique platform for developing business contacts, sharing experiences, and presenting opportunities within the maritime industry. The event convened over 2,000 participants, including representatives from leading maritime companies, port managers, and experts from shipping and logistics firms.
According to Russian Minister of Transport Roman Starovoit, the significance of the transport and logistics sector has increased in light of new geopolitical realities. He stated the ambitious goal of creating the most efficient transport system in the world, accessible to everyone—both passengers and businesses. Special attention is given to water transport, crucial for the country's socio-economic development and international connections.
Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov noted that the Russian maritime industry is undergoing deep transformation, with new organizations emerging and existing shipyards being modernized. The focus is on domestic technologies and the construction of mixed-cargo vessels for international transport corridors.
This Congress aims to discuss vital issues affecting maritime transport, strengthen interregional cooperation, and create favourable conditions for working with foreign partners. The program includes over 25 business events featuring more than 200 speakers and international dialogues.
The first day of the Congress featured a plenary session titled Maritime Industry of Russia: Restarting for Progress, with participation from top officials and industry leaders. They discussed the challenges faced by the maritime sector over the past years and the ongoing efforts to improve regulations and logistics.
The Congress also includes a 3,000 square metre exhibition showcasing 50 stands from leading maritime companies, presenting innovations and technologies in marine and river transport.
