The Minister of the Emergency Department of Belarus Vadim Sinyavsky said that the agency plans to participate in the Russian exercises of rescuers in the Arctic next year. According to him, the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry is interested in the exchange of experience.

"We have a lot to learn from our Russian colleagues and other CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) colleagues. We do not have such emergencies, for example in the Arctic. We will definitely take part in these exercises that will be held there. We will be able to work out how to deal with large floods and how to eliminate them. We have a lot of rivers and lakes in the country, we cannot rule it out," the Minister said.

Sinyavsky noted that the Belarusian rescuers and their colleagues from other countries are constantly looking for something to tell each other, to teach each other.

"We have a good experience of training specialists, international cooperation, we are constantly learning," added the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

He added that the heads of the CSTO Emergencies Ministries have been planning annual joint events within the framework of the Coordinating Council for Emergency Situations since 2007.
