Russia and Indonesia intend to develop a programme to promote cooperation in the Far East and the Arctic. Both sides agreed to create a joint plan for the development of Russian-Indonesian cooperation in these regions.
The main spheres of cooperation between Russia and Indonesia include logistics, cargo transportation along the Northern Sea Route, participation in the creation of the Russian-Indian sea route Far East — Chennai, supply of environmentally friendly agricultural products, fertilisers and construction. The development goes along the lines of the master plans’ framework in 25 cities of the Russian Far East.

Other crucial spheres of cooperation between two countries are tourism, creating air links between cities of the Russian Far East and Indonesia, education and creative industries.
Currently, Russia primarily exports mineral products to Indonesia, such as coal, oil and petroleum products, metals, food and agricultural raw materials, as well as chemical products.
