Three weeks after leaving Murmansk, the second production line of the Arctic LNG-2 project reached the LNG production plant.

Tugboats brought the second line of Arctic LNG-2 to the place of work. Installation and commissioning will take several months and the line is expected to be operational by the end of the year. As for the exports, they may begin by next summer, when there will be no need to use ice-class tankers.

It can now be argued that the project, despite Western sanctions, will not only continue, but will also expand production.

In general, within the framework of Arctic LNG-2, it is planned to launch three production lines with a capacity of 6 million tonnes of LNG per year each. Earlier, the project had difficulties caused by sanctions and the fact that Novatek lost the opportunity to ship LNG from the project.
However, not so long ago, a second vessel was spotted moored at the Arctic LNG-2 loading terminal, which means that the company has found a way to use shadow gas carriers to send its products for export. The Arctic Century recently made a publication devoted to this topic.
